Airway obstruction is very common and can significantly impair many daily activities such as exercise and can even prevent a good night of sleep. It is quite common for many patients to present to our Newport Beach office with significant airway obstruction. Typically, airways can be obstructed from a deviated septum, from enlarged inferior turbinates, or weak internal and external nasal valves.

To improve the airway one removes the obstructing portion of the septum, reduces the size of the inferior turbinates, and supports the internal and external nasal valves. It is not uncommon for patients to also want to improve the appearance of their nose at the time of airway reconstruction. Often the same surgical maneuvers to improve the airway can often improve the appearance of the nose.
